With the opening of our new USO Kandahar center (still shooting for late-July), the duty managers thought we should get a dog mascot/therapy dog/service dog. Our dog (Bob Hope if it's a male; Hope Bob if it's a female) would greet visitors and make everyone feel at home, and would lower the defenses and the blood pressure of everyone with whom he/she came in contact. There would be plenty of people to pet, walk, feed and take care of our four-legged friend. We truly believe a dog would benefit everyone. Joan had T-shirts made to further our cause.
Larry is not quite on board yet.
