Halloween at the USO

Halloween was a ton of fun. During the afternoon Christine and I delivered pumpkin bags filled with goodies to the permanent units on base. We had to remind a couple of the soldiers that the treats were meant to be shared with their fellow workers, not eaten all at once, at one sitting, by one person, alone.

Later the Camp Virginia 5K Run and Costume Contest began at the USO with all manner of inspired getups, including an outhouse, a couple of Vikings and a Peter Pan, officers from Super Troopers and Reno 911, Gaybe Lincoln, and (the contest winner) a pallet of water. The artillery wore beautiful scarves; oy! Every one of our USO employees dressed up and most of us looked adorable.
